Keep your weight down to avoid snoring. In some cases, the presence of excess fat around your neck can cause your throat to partly obstruct while you sleep and make you snore. A pillow that is too soft can actually be too relaxing, encouraging the muscles in your throat to go slack and ultimately reducing the effective size of your airway. You will begin snoring because it is difficult for air to get through. Switch to a firm pillow, and your passageways will stay open.
